What we do – every project explained
Eight projects, one goal: a CO₂-positive region
As a nonprofit foundation, we run a portfolio of projects rather than a single business line. Some projects reduce emissions directly – audits, thermomodernization and renewable installations. Some remove them – tree planting. Some make all the others possible – advice, education and honest information. On this page you can read what each project actually involves, who it is for, and how to take part.
1. Oxygen Trees – planting the future
What it is: our signature foundation project. We organise the planting and long-term care of trees in the Subcarpathian region – trees that absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere and release oxygen for decades.
Why it matters: heat pumps and insulation reduce emissions, but a modern economy will always produce some. Trees are the only technology that removes CO₂ from the air while also cooling cities in summer, holding water in the landscape and giving birds a home. One mature tree absorbs roughly 20–25 kg of CO₂ per year – a small forest is a genuine carbon sink.
How it works: we identify suitable sites together with municipalities and landowners, select native species suited to the location, prepare the ground, and organise planting days. We provide the seedlings, the site and the know-how – volunteers provide the hands. After planting we monitor and care for the young trees, because a tree that dies in its first summer absorbs nothing.
Who can join: everyone. Families, school classes, company teams and whole municipalities can take part in a planting day. Companies can also sponsor a planting campaign as part of their own environmental responsibility – and receive a public report of what their contribution achieved.
2. Clean Air information point in Rzeszów
What it is: an official advisory point for Poland's flagship Clean Air programme, operating from our headquarters at ul. Armii Krajowej 30 in Rzeszów. Here, anyone can walk in or call and get free, factual information about the programme.
What we do there: we explain who qualifies for Clean Air funding and at which income level, what the programme pays for (boiler replacement, insulation, windows, heat pumps, photovoltaics), which documents are needed, and how the application process works step by step. We also help people whose applications were rejected understand why – and how to fix the mistakes.
Why it matters: the Clean Air programme can cover a large part – and for lower-income households, up to 100% – of the cost of an ecological upgrade. Yet many people never apply because the paperwork feels intimidating. Our information point exists to remove exactly that barrier. The advice is free, independent and comes from a foundation, not from a company trying to sell you a specific boiler.
3. Mobile Clean Air operator in Małopolska
What it is: thanks to our efforts, the foundation was distinguished by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management and became a mobile operator of the Clean Air project in the Małopolska region. Instead of waiting for people to come to us, we go to them.
What we do: our advisors travel to municipalities, villages and small towns, setting up information stands at local offices, community centres, markets and events. We give presentations, answer questions on the spot, and help residents fill in Clean Air applications during the meeting itself.
Why it matters: many of the households that most need the subsidy – elderly people, rural families, people without easy transport – are precisely the ones least likely to visit an office in another town. Mobile advice brings the programme to their doorstep. Małopolska is also one of the regions with the worst smog in Poland, so every boiler replaced there has an outsized effect on air quality.
4. Thermomodernization & RES showroom in Rzeszów
What it is: a physical exhibition space at ul. Armii Krajowej 30 in Rzeszów – the only place in the region where heat pumps, wood gasifying boilers, pellet boilers, windows, doors and insulation samples are displayed side by side, in one place.
What visitors get: you can touch the devices, open the windows, compare insulation materials and see real product dimensions – before spending a single złoty. Our experts explain how each technology works, what it costs to run over ten years, and which subsidies apply to your specific situation. Because we are a foundation, this advice is independent: our goal is the right solution for you, not the biggest sale.
Why it matters: most people make one of the biggest investments of their life – a heating system – based on a brochure and a salesman's word. Seeing and comparing the real technologies, with an independent advisor at your side, prevents expensive mistakes that last for twenty years.
5. Energy audit programme
What it is: a programme of professional building energy audits carried out by our certified auditors – over 800 completed since 2022 for single-family homes, businesses and public buildings.
What an audit includes: a detailed examination of the building envelope (walls, roof, floors, windows), the heating and ventilation systems, and the way the building is actually used. The auditor measures, calculates and produces a formal report showing exactly where heat – and money – escapes, and defines the improvements needed. The audit is also a formal requirement for most subsidy programmes, including Clean Air.
Why it matters: without an audit, every investment decision is a guess. With one, you know which improvement gives the biggest saving for every złoty spent – and your subsidy application stands on solid, professional documentation. We prepare the full package, so you never face the paperwork alone.
6. Thermomodernization & RES investments
What it is: our core delivery programme – complete ecological upgrades of buildings, from first audit to working installation. Over 300 investments completed since 2022.
What a typical project includes: an energy audit, a funding application, selection of equipment and contractors, delivery of the chosen technologies (heat pumps, photovoltaics, energy storage, insulation, windows, ventilation), supervision of the installation, and support until the project is finished and the subsidy is paid out.
Why it matters: an ecological upgrade involves five to ten different specialists, several institutions and months of paperwork. Most failures happen not because the technology is bad, but because nobody coordinated the process. We are that coordinator – one responsible partner from the first phone call to the finished, financed project.
7. Independent heating source rankings
What it is: our independent comparison of heating sources – gasifying boilers, pellet boilers, heat pumps and other technologies – evaluated on emissions, running costs, comfort and lifetime.
Why we publish it: the heating market is full of marketing claims. Every producer says their boiler is the cleanest and cheapest to run. As a foundation, we have no brand to defend, so we can compare technologies honestly – including the uncomfortable conclusions, such as when a simple pellet boiler beats an expensive heat pump, or when insulation should come before any new heat source at all.
How to use it: visit our showroom or contact us, and we will walk you through the ranking for your type of building, your fuel availability and your budget. The ranking is a starting point for a conversation, never a substitute for an audit of your actual home.
8. Education & community programme
What it is: our educational activities for children, students and adults – workshops, information stands, social media content and this blog – all explaining energy saving, renewable technologies and subsidy programmes in plain language.
What we teach: how a heat pump moves heat instead of producing it; why insulating the attic is usually the first investment to make; how to read an offer from an installation company and spot the warning signs of a dishonest contractor; how the Clean Air and My Electricity programmes work; and why a home “after subsidies” still needs to be run sensibly.
Why it matters: every dishonest sale, every badly sized installation and every rejected application traces back to the same root: someone did not know what they were signing. Education is the cheapest emission reduction that exists – an informed owner makes one good decision instead of two expensive mistakes.
